When additional raw water capacity was needed for the Lake Region Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plant,
Globaltech, Inc. was selected to provide design-build services to install a new Floridan Aquifer Well that would meet the need. The project included health department permitting, building department permitting, site preparation, well construction, wellhead design and construction, design and installation of electrical and control systems, design and installation of piping to the raw water main, and startup services.
The project included soliciting competitive bid proposals from multiple drilling contractors and selecting a drilling subcontractor. Hydrogeological services were provided by JLA Geosciences. The well was constructed by subcontractor All Webb Enterprises, Inc.
The 600-to-1,000 GPM well consisted of the following:
- 30-inch steel surface casing
- 14” SDR 17 Certa-lock well casing approximately 1,150 ft deep
- 12” HDPE Raw water main, 6” HDPE Raw water bypass main
- 8” SS well head with 8-inch mag meter, butterfly isolation valves, and blow off connection
- 60 hp submersible pump on 8-inch pump column
- Variable Frequency Drive
