Globaltech was hired under a design-build services contract to design and install a rapid mix bypass piping system, along with improvements to the west raw water flow meter and degasified membrane permeate pipeline for the City of Lake Worth Beach. The project includes engineering services for design, procurement, permits, and the preparation of necessary drawings, submittals, and record documents. Key improvements involve adding a duplex sump pump, a new transmitter for the venturi flow meter, and a control valve to prevent siphoning. The project also covers project management, site visits, startup services, and the preparation of Operations and Maintenance manuals. Various construction divisions will handle tasks such as concrete installation, pipe support anchoring, coating, and mechanical and electrical system modifications.
Project Achievements / Benefits
The rapid mix bypass system and associated improvements were successfully implemented, enhancing the overall functionality of the water treatment process. The new duplex sump pump and venturi flow meter transmitter were seamlessly integrated, improving system reliability and flow measurement accuracy. The control valve installed on the degasified membrane permeate pipeline effectively prevents siphoning, ensuring optimal water flow management. The project was completed on schedule, with all design elements meeting or exceeding performance expectations, while minimizing disruption to the existing infrastructure.
