Globaltech was awarded a Design-Build contract for upgrading and replacing equipment at PBCWUD’s Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Nos. 3 and 9 in Palm Beach County, Florida.
The improvements at WTP 9 included installation of a new 1% sodium hypochlorite disinfection system. The system utilized five (5) magnetic drive centrifugal pumps and four (4) automated dosing valves. New HDPE suction and discharge piping was installed up to the injection points, with double-walled co-extruded piping used outside containment areas. New valve cabinets were installed at the Clearwell and scrubber injection points.
An automatic and manual dilution skid was also installed to dilute 12% bulk sodium hypochlorite to 1% solution at both WTP 3 and WTP 9.
New electrical improvements included modifications to existing RIO panels, new SCADA screens, and updated SCADA programming.
All modifications were completed in compliance with current regulations, codes, and permitting requirements.
