As the Engineer of Record, the Firm is providing project management, engineering, and construction support services for the rehabilitation of Lift Stations (LS) 16, 58, 132, 150, and 59. The project includes replacing deteriorated piping, pump rails, base plates, elbows, and coating systems to restore reliable lift station operation and meet current SUA standards.
Work includes site mobilization, setup of bypass pumping systems with backup pumps and telemetry, demolition of existing components, and abrasive blasting and preparation of wet well surfaces. New improvements include installation of 316 stainless-steel pump base plates, elbows, riser pipes, pump rails, vents, and pipe supports, as well as chemical grout leak repairs and installation of a fused calcium aluminate corrosion barrier system. Additional work includes new concrete pads, electrical and metering box adjustments, above-ground piping painting, antenna removal, and site restoration.
At LS 58, 132, and 150, the project includes replacement of existing fencing with new 6-ft vinyl-coated chain-link fencing with double-swing gates and privacy slats. LS 59 has been added to address similar piping, coating, and pump rail repairs.
The Firm will prepare permit drawings, submittals, and record drawings; develop bypass pumping plans; conduct construction site visits; review submittals; and coordinate meetings and project documentation. All documentation and final closeout will be completed through the Procore platform in accordance with SUA standards.
Project Achievements / Benefits
- The lift station improvements enhance system reliability by replacing aging piping, pump rails, and coatings with durable 316 stainless-steel components and long-lasting corrosion protection. Updated site features and standardized equipment reduce maintenance needs, improve safety, and support more efficient operations. Temporary bypass systems ensure uninterrupted service during construction.
- The project successfully upgraded multiple lift stations to current SUA standards, improving performance and extending asset service life. New stainless-steel components, restored wet wells, and site enhancements were completed while maintaining continuous operation.
